Black & white sheets of glass were cut into strips, a piece of clear glass placed over the top and fired for 24 hours in the kiln to make a striped piece of glass.
The striped piece of glass was cut into strips of alternating black and white squares. These strips were arranged to create a chequerboard pattern; and fired for 24 hours in the kiln to fuse the glass together.
The chequerboard pattern was cut into black and white triples.
The work was assembled from two circles of clear glass placed on top of each other and topped with the black and white triples; and fired in the kiln for 24 hours to fuse the glass together.
This final patterned glass was fired again for 24 hours in a mold to shape it.
