Blue & white sheets of glass were cut into narrow strips, a piece of glass placed over the top and fired for 24 hours in the kiln to make a striped piece of glass.

The striped piece was cut into squares and the squares cut into triangles, with the triangles of similar stripes being fitted together. One layer of 12 pieices of clear glass with four aqua stringers was fitted around the centre square to compliment it with a second layer of 4 pieces of clear glass on top, and four small pieces of blue added to the corners of the work to complete the pattern;, and fired for 24 hours in the kiln to fuse the glass together.

This final patterned glass was fired again for 24 hours on a mold to shape it.
