Crimson & clear sheets of glass were cut into strips, a piece of glass placed over the top and fired for 24 hours in the kiln to make a striped piece of glass.
The striped piece was cut into 1 centimetre strips creating alternating crimson and clear squares, arranged in a chequerboard pattern; and fired again for 24 hours in the kiln to fuse the glass together.
The work was created by cutting two layers of clear glass to fit around the chequerboard pattern, allowing for square crimson corners; and fired for 24 hours in the kiln to fuse the glass together.
This final patterned glass was fired again for 24 hours on a mold to shape it.
