The striped pieces of glass were made by cutting strips of coloured glass, fitting them together and topped with clear glass; before firing in the kiln for 24 hours to fuse the glass together. The striped glass was cut into strips and triangles as observed in the finished work.
Two layers of glass were built around the striped pieces, with the red and blue triangles, and the black strips fitted in the top layer. The coloured glass dots and black striped oblong were placed on the top layer; and fired for 24 hours to fuse the glass.
A frame of two layers of strips of clear glass was added; and fired again to fuse the glass.
The glass is 310 mm square approx. The stand is 280mm wide by 100mm deep approx.
