My Commissions

I also make commissioned works. A great variety of shapes and patterns are possible. This page shows examples.

If you would like to commission a work, we can discuss the size, shape, pattern and colours.  I can be contacted by phone and email.

Cherry Stand

Item 0002

This item was a prototype stand for a commission to display five beautiful Murano glass cherries.

The work was made from two layers of fused clear glass and slumped over my custom made mold.

Maritime Flags

Item 0300

These are the maritime flags that can also be interpreted as letters of the alphabet.

Commissioned works can be created to display a name using selected maritime flags; e.g. for a yacht or company name.

The photo shows the completed glass flags. The glass flags consist of separately cut and fitted pieces of glass, with a clear piece on top.

Additional glass pieces are cut and fitted in two layers around the selected flags to create the platter or glass art object.

The work requires approximately five firings, each of 24 hours.

Art Deco Bowl

Item 018

This work was made from two layers of clear glass circles, one smaller than the other, and a rim from annular sections of black glass, and black frit, with autumn inclusions in the middle; and fired in the kiln for 24 hours to fuse the glass together.

The patterned glass was again fired for 24 hours draped over a mold in the kiln to shape it.

Upturn Pink

Item 0075

Chequerboard patterns of crimson and clear glass were made from fitted strips of glass, fused, recut and refitted, and fired again.

Two layers of clear glass were fused in between the chequerboard patterns; and then the glass was draped over a mold to create the shape.

Four firings, each of 24 hours, were required.
